Ross A. Kennedy — Author & Builder of the House of Shirzan

I build calm, practical frameworks for families and students—then turn them into usable tools: books, guided worksheets, and teacher-friendly web portals designed to support reflection and communication.

Note: Several prototypes are intentionally not public-facing. Live walkthroughs are available by request so tools can be demonstrated with proper context and supervision.

Selected Work

📘 Books

Guiderails Protocol (Three-Book Series)

A practical framework for guiding kids without becoming a roadblock—built around trust, communication, and restoration when relationships go off track.

Built for: Parents, mentors, and educators who want repeatable language and structure—not lectures.
🧭 Family Communication Tools

Parlay & Ritualized Conversation

A set of simple, repeatable conversation formats designed to reduce reactivity and create predictability— so hard talks happen inside a safe container.

  • Designed to slow escalation and keep dignity intact.
  • Works as a family tool or a mentorship tool.
  • Pairs with book concepts instead of replacing them.
🏰 Classroom Prototype

Castle Classroom (Teacher / Student Portals)

A guided classroom interface concept where the teacher sets the topic and objectives, and the system supports students through structured prompts—without letting the tool hijack the lesson.

Supervised demo only: shown with a teacher present to protect learning outcomes and prevent misuse.
🎓 Student Reflection

Castle Coach

A guided reflection tool aimed at helping students think clearly, debrief decisions, and develop self-command. Built to be useful even when the student is frustrated, tired, or defensive.

  • Promotes reflection over reaction.
  • Designed to encourage real-world action, not screen loops.
  • Works as a “coach,” not a lecturer.
🪞 Guided Reflection Space

Castle Commons Reflection Pool

A calm reflection environment built for parents and mentors—designed to help organize thoughts, name emotions, and choose next steps with clarity.

Principle: The tool supports healthy dialogue; it never replaces it.
🦌 Storytelling + Character Education

Tales from the Glimmerglass

A story world written in the spirit of classic moral fantasy (legally distinct), built to teach humility, courage, and chosen-family love through wonder rather than lectures.

Why it belongs in this portfolio: Story is a teaching technology.

How we “tame the AI”

Many AI tools act like an overconfident know-it-all. The House of Shirzan approach is the opposite: the system is designed to behave like a teacher’s assistant—helpful, humble, and structured.

  • Role discipline: the tool supports teacher intent instead of competing with it.
  • Uncertainty is allowed: “I don’t know” is better than confident nonsense.
  • Prompted verification: students are nudged to check sources and reason, not copy.
  • Guardrails by design: the system steers toward objectives rather than wandering.
  • Human-first: screens are prompts for real conversations and real learning—never a substitute.
